Beauty Haul (MAC, NYX, Maybelline !)

Here are some new beauty products I purchased in the past couple of weeks, you will see that most of the items are lip products, this is because I noticed that my makeup collection is lacking in the lip color department and so it became the perfect excuse for me to go out and shop for more. I've already started using all of these products in the weeks since I purchased them, so I will also be telling you what I think about them. Most of these products are from drugstore brands like NYX and Maybelline so they are very affordable, so I definitely recommend trying them out if you are looking for something with a lower price point.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad To The Bronze

The first item is a cream eyeshadow, or cream-shadow as I like to call it, it's a Maybelline 24hour Color Tattoo in the shade "Bad To The Bronze". It's very popular with beauty bloggers and I know people in real life who swear by this, so I decided to try it out. I got it for $15.90 at Watsons.

What I really love about this product is that all you have to do is apply it all over your eyelid, with slightly more in the crease, and it creates a perfect brown look, it looks as though you spent a lot of time on your makeup when all it takes is just a couple of quick minutes, and you don't even have to put a lot of effort into it. Application is really easy, you don't have to worry too much about it, and what's better? It lasts well, I don't feel the need to constantly reapply throughout the day. Now I know why everybody loves the Maybelline Color Tattoos, I'm so glad I jumped on the bandwagon !

These next items are lipsticks, and they're two rather different colors. Just like with clothes, you always need some dark clothes and some light clothes. So I got a neutral lipstick, and a dark plum lipstick to help build up my arsenal of lip colors.

Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick in Party Pink

Although it's named Party PINK, it's definitely more of a dark berry colour. On the lips it has a red-tone. This has great lasting ability. But for the moisturization factor, it isn't so great. This is a fall color, as with all maroon, plum colors, but since I wear maroon coloured clothes all the time, I figured it would coordinate well with the rest of my outfit. We don't experience seasons here in Singapore, so I would probably be able to get away with wearing this shade anytime I want.

Maybelline ColorSensational NUDE in Sugared Almond

As delicious as the name sounds, sadly the lipstick itself isn't almond scented, in fact, it's not even scented. With the previous lipstick though, there was a bit of floral scent, I noticed. As a fan of everything scented, this was a letdown. However, it gives great colour payoff, and definitely lasts a good amount of time. Like the previous lipstick, it doesn't have any moisturizing ability. I suggest applying lip balm on the lip before putting it on (this can also help to prevent creasing and smooth out any chapness on your lip) or layering a clear lip gloss over it.

Sugared Almond is a pretty, nude pink, that works great for the days when I want a non-fussy lip color, or for toning down the lips when I have a really intense eye makeup (having a nude, understated lip helps to keep the attention on the eyes.)

Here is a closer look on the swatches. These 2 colors are definitely gorgeous, and I love the color pay-off. I got them at Watsons, I got them on sale at $14.30, the original price is about $18.

Another item that is widely raved by YouTube beauty gurus and beauty bloggers alike, the NYX Butter Gloss. When I saw them at Sephora, I knew I just had to try them.

The description says "Butter me up with divine gloss that feels like it melts on lips." Reading that, I became determined to see if they are just as good as NYX (and everyone) claims they are.

I got 2 colors Tiramisu and Cherry Pie. The moment I saw that all the colors are named after delicious food, I was like "These are for me" because you guys know how obsessed I am with things that smell like food.

It has a sugary scent, it's like sweetness overload, and I really like it ! I've been wearing this almost everyday since I got it.

This is for the days when I want a bolder lip. Strangely enough it smells exactly the same as Tiramisu, which is strange because I thought it would smell like Cherry Pie. Instead it seems like all the Butter Glosses smell the same.

This next one is also a bold color. It's from NYX Glam Lipstick Aqua Luxe Collection. Like the Butter Glosses, I also got this at Sephora,  The Butter Glosses are $10 each, this one's $12.

I was drawn to this shade because it looked amazing in the packaging, I felt sure that it would look as great on. And I was right ! It's a gorgeous hot pink that's super bright, and also has glitter in it. It has wonderful color pay-off. I like to apply thin layers on the days I want a pop of color, but something that's not too dramatic. A downside is that it isn't very lasting.

MAC Lipstick in Ravishing (Cremesheen finish)

The last item in this haul is from MAC. I've been wanting to get a MAC lipstick for a really long time, but I wasn't sure if they were worth the price (about $28). But I figured, if I never tried it, I would never know if I like them. And so I told myself to just suck it up and have a leap of faith. So I got this one, it's a pretty coral color that looks amazing with my asian skin,

I really like this lipstick, the formula is fantastic, and it has great lasting ability, definitely worth every penny. I'm looking forward to getting more MAC colors to add to m makeup collection.

One thing to note is that MAC lipsticks tend to melt very easily, so be sure to keep it a cooler environment.

That is all for this beauty haul, I hope you enjoyed reading this ! I'll be back in my next post
