Korea Trip: Part 2 (Fashion Haul feat. Forever 21)

Welcome to the second part of my Korea Trip series !

The first shopping district we went to is Dongdaemum Market where they have many malls and they sell really trendy clothes and accesories, and at a range of prices. Some of the malls have a higher price point, while others have lower price points. But you have to keep in mind that the items of a higher price point are usually of a better quality than those of a lower price point. That was what I realised when I did my shopping there. With things like that you gotta realised you get what you paid for. mjBut Dongdaemum is a really great place to shop, I would definitely go shop there again if I can.

These are the items I got at Dongdaemum Market, at a mall which I forgot the name, but I know it starts with the letter 'M'.

(I apologise in advance for the occasional bluriness in my photographs, I don't know what's going on with my camera)

I got this really gorgeous long sleeved cotton top, with pretty gold buttons. I do not own anything like this which is why I was so excited when I found this. It was 10.000 won. About $10.50 SGD. You would expect to find something like this in Singapore at $18-$21.

Really loving this cardigan. It's pink in real life. The camera washed off most of the colour. This was also 10,000 won. About $10.50 SGD. This and the previous top, don't they look similar? Well. not exactly the same, but the same kind of concept. So I guess I'm just drawn to designs like that.

A close-up of the buttons on the cardigan, as you can see, the buttons are slightly different from the buttons on the long sleeved top. These are coin/medalion like buttons, while those are plain, rounded gold buttons.

Really pretty checkered shirt, at 10,000 won. About $10.50 SGD. Awesome deal. It looks like something I'll find at Forever 21. Love how unique it is, seeing as blue-on-blue checkered shirts are not very common.

As you can see, all the stitchings are done unsing brown thread. Which makes it different from the usual kind of checkered shirts that use plain white or black thread.

These were all the items I bought at Dongdaemum. The next place we went to was Myeongdong. The following items are all from the Forever 21 store located there. The store has a lower price point as compared to the Forever 21 stores in Singapore stores. So I was really excited to shop there.

There was a sale section located outside the store, and this really pretty knitted cardigan was the only thing I got from that area. It's lavender with white stripes running through it.

In this close-up, you can see that the lavender part of the cardigan actually has burgundy infusions.

This was originally 21,800 won. About $22.30 SGD.
But I got it on sale at 6,990. About $7.40 SGD.
It's really soft, and I'm already envisioning wearing it with different outfits.
Actually, I've been looking for knitted cardigans for quite a while now, but I never got round to buying those I found because they were either too expensive or wasn't really the colour I was looking for. But then I found this, at such a great price, and I love the colour, I love the red infusions, I love the thickness of the knit.
With knitted things, sometimes they're too thick for the weather in Singapore.
But this wasn't the case for this cardigan I bought, it was the perfect kind of knit I was looking for, not too thick and not too heavy.
Can't wait to wear this.

I also got a black blazer. Found this at the top floor where there were, surprisingly, more sale items. So I grabbed this because it was at a really inexpensive price. Also because the only other blazer I own is pink in colour, and I figured it would be good to have a plain black blazer because sometimes I am required to dress business/business casual.
And black blazers are the essential kind of formal wear, you can throw it over a tank, a dress, a shirt, and it'll make you look instantly formal/business appropriate. And black is a neutral colour, so you don't have to think much about how you're going to make it work with the rest of your outfit.
With my pink blazer, I have found that sometimes it really difficult to keep your whole look within the boundaries of the formal/professional image. But still, coloured blazers are really good for adding more vibrancy and freshness into your workwear.

Used flash so you can see the detailing, and the lapels.

Also comes with a free button in case one of it falls off and you need a replacement.

This was originally priced at 46,800 won. About $47,300 SGD.
I got it for sale at 14,040 won. About $14.50 SGD.
Really happy I got this at such a great discount.

Got this stried pullover. It has chestnut and oatmeal stripes. Oatmeal is actually cream colour with a little bit of grey. Veteran Forever 21 shoppers would probably already know this 'oatmeal' colour/fabric as Forever 21 uses this really often.

A close-up on the oatmeal stripes.

This was originally 9,800 won. About $10.40 SGD.
I got this on sale at 4,900 won. About $5.40 SGD.
Great deal, really pretty, definitely gonna get a lot of wear out of this.

Then I found this, it has this dip-dyed look that's trending right now. This is from one of the Forever 21 special collections called Burnout. Really happy to find this on sale.

It also has a triangle in the front like I've seen on some J.Crew pullovers.

This was originally priced at 21,800 won. About $22.30 SGD.
But I got this for 10,990 won. About $11.40 SGD.
Great deal, really pretty top. Can't wait to wear it, especially during Spring when neon shades are really trendy.

Then I got this neutral coloured cardigan. Neutral colours never go out of trend, and I already own a black cardigan and a white own, so I figured I might as well get a beige/tan coloured one too.

This was originally 18,500 won. About $19 SGD.
I got it on sale at 9,250 won. About $9.70 SGD.
This was a really great price for a cardigan like that.
Here in Singapore, these plain cardigans are about $21 at Forever 21. There are other stores selling them at $18+ but the quality isn't as great as Forever 21's.

This is the last thing I bought, it's not from Forever 21. I got this at a little boutique we happened to pass by while walking on the streets of Korea.
This is another striped top, but its totally different from the other striped top in this haul.
These stripes are thin and red.
The other one's stripes are fatter and in a chestnut colour.
Got this at 15,000 won. About $15.50.
This is the most expensive item in this haul.

Okay, this is it for my fashion haul. Stay tuned for the next instalment in my Korea Trip series, Part 3: Scenes and Sights. I hope you enjoyed this haul as much as I loved writing it.
I will be showing you how I styled these clothes after the Korea Trip Series is completed ! So do keep a look out for that !

Korea Trip: Part 1 (Beauty Haul)

I had a total of 290,000 won and the Beauty and Fashion Hauls are 90% of the things I bought, the other 10% consists of food and the occasional Starbucks Iced Americano (my favourite). Caffeine addict much ? Haha. In truth, I needed my coffee as I had to wake up at 7.30am KST (6.30am Singapore time) every morning and I didn't want to be yawning throughout the day.
So this is the Beauty Haul.

I got Nail Polish by THE FACE SHOP at 1,000 won each. Around $1.50 SGD. I got all solid colours because, being the very first colours of polish I own, I wanted to have some nice basics.
This kind of basics are essential in nail polish collections as they are very easy matching, and they'll go very well with most of the things you wear, so you won't have to put much thought into how you're gonna match your clothes with your nails.

Can't wait to try out this colour. Oh! I got my nails done after I got back to Singapore because my previous manicure was all chipped, perhaps I was kinda rough with my nails when I was in Korea.

I got this nude shade because I've been looking for something that'll blend in to my fingers and make it seem like I don't have any polish on. Really excited about this.

A really pretty light pink shade. Pink is my favourite colour, so I'm pretty such I'll get alot of wear out of this.

I got this Apple Intensive Moisture Hand & Nail Cream by FARMSTAY because I was drawn to the packaging. It looked like something I would find in Sephora, due to the American-style packaging. But I tried it when I got home, and I loved it. Absolutely no regrets. It smelled like real apples, and it did not feel the least bit oily. Oh, and this was 3,000 won. About $3.50 SGD.

As this is not a very well known brand, you can check out their website here: www.myungincos.com

Then I got this Rice Ceramide Moisture Emulsion by THE FACE SHOP, because I had noticed my skin feeling a bit dry lately, so I got this to see if it could turn the situation around.
This is 4,400 won. About $4.90 SGD.

Rich Hand - Hand & Cuticle Duo by THE FACE SHOP. This was slightly more expensive than the other hand creams I got. It was 6,900 won. About $7.40 SGD. This was more of a balm, rather than a cream formula.

A close-up of the information in case you're interested.

Rich Hand - Hand & Foot Total Treatment by THE FACE SHOP.
This was basically the same thing as the one above, the Hand & Cuticle Duo. Except you can use this on the foot as opposed to the other one which is for the hands only.
This was more creamy than the other one.
This was also 6,900 won. About $7.40 SGD. It's the same price as the other one. (Hand & Cuticle Duo)

A close-up.

These two are from the same line, RICH HAND, produced by THE FACE SHOP.

Also got this Cherry Blossom Hair Mist by THE FACE SHOP. In love with the smell. It's not too overwhelming, which is great because you don't want to walk around smelling like a tree. As they say, too much of something is never good. Oh, I almost forgot. This was 4,400 won. About $4.90 SGD.

A close-up. It just says, Cherry Blossom Clear Hair Mist.

Pink Peach Hand Essence by WELCOS. Love the peach scent. Really easily absorbant. Non-greasy. And a great price. This was 3,000 won. About $3.50 SGD.

And this isn't a well-known brand, you can check out their website here: www.welcos.co.kr

I ran out of make-up removal tissue so I got this Herb Day Cleansing Tissue by THE FACE SHOP. It has 70 sheets. Which is great quantity when it was only 3,900 won. About $4.40 SGD.

So this was all the beauty items I bought in Korea. Stay tuned for the next part of my Korea Trip series, the Fashion Haul.

Ground Zero

Hey guys! I'm back in Singapore, and I'm ready to blog about my trip to Korea. I could not do any blogging while I was in Korea as my hotel room did not have any Wi-Fi. So I had to wait till I'm back to update you guys about my trip. I am gonna have 2 separate posts for my trip.
The first one will be a beauty haul.
And the second one will be a fashion haul.
I will be posting pictures of all the great stuff I managed to get and I will also tell you how I came across these items etc.
The second one will be about my trip itself, where I went to, what happened there, and as a little heads-up, there will also be a bunch of photos for you to enjoy and to experience a little bit of Seoul through my camera lenses.
The posts will be up soon !
xoxo
